Cannock & Stafford AC men’s over 45 team won silver medals in the Midland Masters Cross Country Relay Championships held at Long Eaton Derbyshire on Saturday (29th).

The Midland Masters event was incorporated into the British Masters races. The over 45’s finished ninth overall in the British Masters event but second of the Midland teams competing.

Andy Cotterill was first to run and finished his leg in tenth place with a time of 11:23. Mark Shepherd then ran the team’s fastest leg of 10:59 to hand over to Mark Green in sixth. Mark (12:09), Darrell Wilde (12:08) and Paul Lester (12:07) all then ran remarkably similar times to gain the silver medals.

We also had a team competing in the M35 age group. Mitch Blundell (10:41), Jon Biddle (10:44), Craig Pearson (11:03) and Martyn Clare (13:28) all contributed to the team finishing 10th overall in the British Masters race and 5th in the Midlands.
